About

The Oracle is West Springfield High School’s award-winning student-run publication that serves as the voice of the student body. Through news stories and opinion pieces, The Oracle informs and educates students on events and topics of student interest via a printed newspaper publication, website, and social media platform. West Springfield High School’s The Oracle is a designated public forum in which students make all decisions of content without prior review by school officials. The Oracle is committed to publishing student opinion pieces, such as the Editorial that reflects the opinion of at least two-thirds of The Oracle staff, as well as other viewpoint stories. To this effect, the content published in The Oracle may not reflect the opinions of school officials of Fairfax County Public Schools. The Oracle is a member of the National Scholastic Press Association, Columbia Scholastic Press Association, and the Virginia High School League.

The Oracle’s adviser is AP Literature and journalism teacher Beth Leone. She can be reached at [email protected].
