It’s time for summer nights.

Spring isn’t officially marked by the start of country concert season, but to most high school students it is a reminder that school will soon be over and summer is just around the corner. This season is host to a multitude of artists passing through Jiffy Lube Live, formally known as Nissan Pavilion. If you manage to push through the crowds of drunk rednecks smoking cigarettes and making out with strangers on the lawn to your seats, then you might have an enjoyable time.

“I enjoy country concerts because it just makes everything a giant party,” said junior Daniel Breedlove.

May 21, 2011 is the official kickoff of the concert season. This year the annual McDonald’s WMZQ Fest will be featuring Jason Aldean along with other artists from the country circuit. One option offered to concert goers is the “Megaticket.” The “Megaticket” is the king of all tickets. Five of the best country concerts , including the WMZQ Fest, are a part of this ticket. Most find that this ticket is cheaper to buy in the long run and gives them more opportunities to go see their favorite artists perform live.

“I don’t know if I’ll be able to go to any concerts this season,” said senior Ann-Marie Lucas. “But I love going because it’s a fun place to hang out with friends in the warm weather.”
