Top grossing ‘Guardians’

All the interviewing I’ve done has come to one conclusion: I am Groot.
Of course I’m not actually Groot; I in no way resemble a 7 foot moving tree with limbs capable of throwing around war machines with ease. The character Groot, played by Vin Diesel, was one of the major protagonists in “Guardians of the Galaxy” that really made a connection to the viewers on the screen and made the production great.
“Groot was amazing, he wasn’t just a random character,” said senior Jay Sierra. “He was inspirational and really brought to movie together.”
Groot might have brought tears to the eyes of some sensitive movie watchers, but the other characters deserve some recognition as well. The unusual roles in the movie were well thought out and well executed.
Besides the fact that Vin Diesel probably earned more than most people’s annual income by repeating the same line throughout the entire movie, it was a great movie. The self-acclaimed “Star-lord,” the main human character starts off as a criminal but realizes that a darker thug in the universe is trying to destroy the galaxy. He comes to the realization that he too is one of the “idiots” that lives in the galaxy and forms alliances with some of his enemies in order to save it.
The actual plot of the movie wasn’t ground breaking, but it was just the actions of the characters and the incredibly humorous lines spaced throughout that made the movie remarkable.
“The movie contains action like any Marvel movie would, but it also had a lot of puns and joke from each individual character that just made me laugh and really made it a better experience,” said Senior Daniel Knapp.
When I went to see the movie, I didn’t watch any of the trailers and I really wasn’t expecting much. I was dragged by my friend, who somehow persuaded me that it wasn’t going to be nerdy. So I wasn’t expecting the movie to be comedic. When they busted out the first joke, I was surprised and believed it was a small risk Marvel was taking in their upcoming movies. As it progressed, the movie went on to pursue a full comedic role.
“Marvel should have a mixture of both in their movies,” said Jay Sierra. “The comedy is more interesting and it keeps your attention more than explosions all over the place would.”
Although “Guardians of the Galaxy” isn’t as well-known as “Iron Man” and “Captain America” to the general public, Marvel did not slack off in its production. It was a high-tier Marvel movie on the same level as “Thor” or “The Avengers.” Basically, it was funny action movie worth the overpriced movie theater tickets with not much to say besides…
“The movie was sick,” said Senior Jacob Shamburger.
