Time to say goodbye to HIMYM
Hey kids! Here is the story of how I met your mother… is ending.
The popular CBS sitcom “How I Met your Mother” (HIMYM) is on its final run. After airing for nine seasons, the phenomenon of Ted Mosby, actor Josh Radnor, retelling his prolonged story about how he meets the mother of his children. HIMYM is about Mosby and his four friends Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan), and Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel) as they assist Ted on his journey to love in Manhattan, New York.
During the past eight years HIMYM clues have been revealed as to who the mother is such as her famous yellow umbrella that Ted took after a St. Patricks day party that they both attended in 2008. Also, how Ted dated her old roommate Cindy and how they were both present when Ted taught the wrong class on his first day of being a professor at Columbia.
The biggest clue of all is that Ted will meet her at Farhampton at Robin and Barney’s wedding. All of these clues have led up to the last episode of season eight when the mother was shown and into the first episode of season nine where Lily meets her on the train ride to Farhampton.
With the sitcom coming to an end, viewers of the show are realizing how much they will miss the uproarious television show on CBS every Monday night at eight.
“I will miss watching Neil Patrick Harris the most because his jokes and numerous love affairs make me crack up,” said junior Josh Trump.
While the show is mainly about Ted recapping the journey to find the love of his life to his children, there are other hilarious events that happen that make people love the show such as Barney’s love for women and love affairs or Robin’s secret life back in Canada. Not to mention Marshall and Lily’s enduring relationship since college. All of these contribute to the reasons the show will be missed after this last season.
“I watch the show because it never fails to make me laugh,” said Trump “without the show there is going to be a part of me that’s missing.”
Since the show has been of Ted reliving his journey of meeting his wife for the past eight years, the question fans have been wondering is: Is the mother dead? Guess fans have to keep watching the legend.. wait for it..dary show until the end to see if that question is answered even though it will be hard to say good bye to HIMYM.
“[I will miss the show] because it is an integral part of my life that I can’t live without,” said junior Andre Sobert.
