They don’t want it. We do.
Spartan Baseball has proven itself time and time again that they are a powerhouse of talent and style.
In a debate between the quality and “freshness” of spirit pack and uniforms of the baseball and boys lacrosse team, their needs to be a true winner. In all truth, baseball swag stomps lacrosse flow.
To say that baseball “stole” lacrosse’s ideas for the shorts and jackets is absolutely absurd. We just found a new color scheme that better represented our team and school, and we exploited it.
All those lacrosse players out there may think that our ideas aren’t creative for using similar trims and designs, but aren’t “creativity” and “originality” just opinions? Personally, I think that the lax boys are heated because they didn’t originally think of the designs that we did.
If you want to see thievery at its finest, ask the many people on the lax team who decided it would be cool to put BASEBALL hats on their spirit pack. I have heard lacrosse players, time and time again, tell me that the baseball teams’ white hats are so sick they just had to get some. I’m thinking highway robbery?
To continue on, while the lacrosse players and their all-white home flow may be the best they can think of, but come check out a baseball home game and you will see true “swag” at its finest.
Baseball’s all-white home jerseys, combined with the three quarters white sleeves, white cleats, batting gloves, and orange trim on everything, not only is a great example of class of the baseball program, but sets the standard for sporting apparel.
Also , new this year to our sporting apparel, is the addition of Nike Dri-Fit practice jerseys. These jerseys are more comfortable and not as heavy, yet still show the true “swag” of the baseball team with the orange and navy. I don’t see the lacrosse team anywhere on the turf with Nike Dri-Fit, but maybe they will say that they had it first.
Until, and probably even after, a true verdict has emerged to who really has the better gear and swag, I will remained biased that the baseball team takes the cake. All those lax boys who think otherwise can come count the diamonds on my state championship ring.
Baseball has a winning tradition, and in this competition, we keep it that way.
