Long hair don’t care Boys LAX.
The debate about whose spirit pack and jerseys are better between the boys’ lacrosse team and the boys’ baseball team needs to be put to rest. The boys’ lacrosse team hands down has the best gear.
Let’s start with baseball’s nice blue jackets. Those jackets happen to be the exact same brand and style as the lacrosse orange jackets, which the lacrosse team got two months before the baseball team got theirs.
Another example, the lacrosse team’s shorts in 2008 and 2009 were from a company called Fit 2 Win. The design was a solid color with a design down the side of the shorts. The baseball team’s shorts in 2010 happened to be Fit 2 Win as well. The design for their shorts was a solid color with a design down the side. Anybody see a trend here?
The baseball team may argue that there are only so many designs and companies from which to design a spirit pack. But then why is lacrosse always the first ones to come up with these ideas? They also may argue that with the limited amount of colors to choose from there is only a limited amount of things you can do. Yes, our colors are blue and orange but the fact that they continually have the same design and companies as the lacrosse team spirit pack seems, in my eyes, to be a bit uncreative.
Another complaint of the baseball team may be about the hats that the lacrosse received in their spirit pack for 2010. These hats are not from the same company that the baseball hats are and not every person on the lacrosse team purchased a hat so nice try.
Now let’s set aside the spirit pack for a second and talk about the actual game jerseys. Fight me all you want but nothing beats the varsity lacrosse home jerseys. White cleats, white shorts, white socks, white helmets, white jerseys…all White Everything. Enough said.
Lacrosse is far more than just putting on a flat brim hat and wearing “sweet” shades.
Lacrosse is a way of life that it seems like many people want to copy… If I was on the outside looking in I’d want to be part of the lacrosse community as well.
So while the lacrosse team walks down the center of the bleachers decked out in all white with our lettuce flipped perfectly out of the back of our helmets and our symmetrical double Nike socks perfectly lined up, the baseball team will be uncomfortably warming up in their overly tight pants.
Winning states was an amazing feat and witnessing that happen is something I will never forget. But that doesn’t demote the fact that the lacrosse team has by far the best gear.
So go ahead baseball, take back your hats… it will only make our flow look that much better.
