CMA-zing awards

The CMA’s? More like the CMAzing’s.

The 47th annual Country Music Awards aired on Wednesday, November 6th  in Nashville, Tennessee featuring Country’s best artists such as, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Darius Rucker, and Taylor Swift.

The Ceremony kicked off with an explosive performance by Luke Bryan, a Country superstar who was nominated for Male Vocalist of the year and Best Album of the year at the 2012 CMA. Bryan was also nominated for 3 different awards at this year’s Country Music Awards including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year.

Alongside Bryan, the up-and-coming group Florida Georgia Line performed their new hit song Cruise, which earlier in the year, won awards for Duo of the Year and Best Video of the Year during the Country Music Television Awards. The hosts for this year’s awards were veteran artists Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley who brought a great sense of humor to the audience through their various jokes and comical shenanigans. The hilarious duo cracked jokes at the recent acts of former country star Miley Cyrus, and even took a shot at the Obama care website that suffered from technical difficulties throughout the week.

Throughout the ceremony, there were performances by many of the world’s best and most prominent Country Superstars.

Jason Aldean, an artist who reached his fame through his popular song “Hicktown” in 2005 and has had a load of success since then, preformed his song “Night Train” in front of the hyped CMA audience. Aldean was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year.

The stars from the new hit show Duck Dynasty Willie and Jase Robertson made a surprise appearance at the CMA’s and shocked the audience when they performed their rendition of Robin Thicke’s song “Blurred Lines”. They didn’t stop there. The Dynasty men showed off their “twerking” skills during their performance which got the crowd jumping.

Throughout the exuberant countrified night, many more famous stars performed their recent hits such as Taylor Swift and her popular song “Red”, and the Band Perry’s recent song “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely” off of their album “Pioneer”.

At the close of the show, Blake Shelton won Album of the Year for “Based on a True Story”, followed by a performance by Tim McGraw, who had won Music Video of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for his song “Highway Don’t Care”.
