His new job will be working as a Technology Specialist for Fairfax County, a significant step up. Stagliano will soon be assigned to another school to work full time.
For students, the departure of a teacher as popular as Stagliano brings mixed feelings.
“We’re all proud of him that he got a really good job, leaving was a hard decision for him to make,” said senior Sarah Hyde. “It’s been a big change. The feel of the class is a lot different now.”
The faculty was also fond of Stagliano and seems to share the opinion of most of his students. Main Office Administration Assistant Nancy Wood agrees that his presence in the school will be greatly missed.
“I liked his even temperament, his professionalism, and also his abilities,” said Wood, “I miss his knowledge and it was always a pleasure having him in the office, he can really make people smile.”
Stagliano’s position is now occupied by Edward Ogalo, who is optimistic about his future teaching the class and about his students.
“The classes are very engaging, they are some of the smartest kids I know, especially in finance in business,” said Ogalo.
The tennis team remains happy, however, as Stagliano will be keeping his coaching position.
“He’s a good coach, and practice has gotten a little weird since he left, but we’re glad he could stay as our coach,” said senior Gregory Hoobchaak.
With his wide range of classes covering everyone from freshmen to seniors, Stagliano will be missed by students of all grades.
“He was one of my favorite teachers,” said Hyde, “and I’m sad to see him leave.”
