Everyone had to go through a change this year, including
our custodians. They have always had a positive impact on
the school and continue that impact as we all go through the
construction together.
“I feel good today because it’s my job and its work to do,”
said custodian Tom Thamvongsa.
Tom displayed a positive emotion towards this alter in the
school. The school is changing, but the custodians aren’t. Another
change for the custodians besides the trailers would be
the limited space for their materials.
“We have less resources and have to move to different
places,” said custodian Douglass Gomez.
Gomez gave an example of another change the custodial
staff needed to go through. They have had a different experience
from previous years; that didn’t change their feelings
towards their job.
It’s only a few months into the school year, but as the
weather changes the job will get more difficult of the staff.
They don’t think that that’ll impact their job immensely, because
it’s still their job and it’s what they need to do.
“The custodians have been instrumental in getting the
school ready for the students and the teachers” said Director
of Student Activities Andy Muir.
They have been working at the school even before the
school year started, and that shows their dedication to their
job.
WS has never had trouble appreciating the custodians and
their hard work. This year is impacting everyone involved in
this school from the students to the faculty. The custodians
have gone through difficulties, but also have not.
“The custodial staff always has difficulties and it’s just a
little more work, but we’re adjusting to it,” said Building Supervisor,
Russel Wade.
Wade continues to assist his staff into the new year, and
even though the school is under construction, it doesn’t stop
the staff from continuing their duties.
The trailers are an adjustment and everyone is getting
through it together. WS community is going through the difficulties,
but that’s not stopping them from their normal day to
day activities. The custodians continue to have a positive attitude
and that influences the rest of the school to do the same.
“The custodians did a great job in making sure everything
got done,” said Director of Student Activities Andy Muir.
