Eminem returns to retake his throne on the Top 100 rap charts

Guess who’s back? Back again. Shady’s back, or better known as Eminem. After the release of “Recovery” and “Bad Meets Evil” in the early summer of 2010 and 2011, Eminem has not released an album. He still hasn’t, but on November 5, however Eminem will release his much anticipated album, “Marshall Mather LP 2, “after what seems to be centuries to Eminem fans.

Eminem’s name is known around the world due to him being one of the most prominent white rappers. On top of that, he is known for his groundbreaking styles of word play. For example, in his latest single, “Berzerk,” he exclaims, “Plus, I walked in with a coat, fresher than wet paint.” He also provides his fans with stories of his struggle in his childhood and inspirational songs, such as “Lose Yourself” and “Till I Collapse.”

In terms of Eminem’s upcoming releases, his song “Survival” is going to be the soundtrack to one of the biggest video gaming franchises: Call of Duty. “Call of Duty: Ghosts” is the next game in the Call of Duty franchise and usually, and is likely to be a best-selling game. This based on past sales suits Eminem well because he is one of the best-selling rappers of this generation. So when all the boys buy Call of Duty to play for 12 hours a day, they’ll be listening to Eminem as well. It’s just perfect.

Eminem’s album, “Marshall Mathers LP 2,” is what draws the attention of most people. His first “Marshall Mathers LP” album contained classic Eminem songs such as “The Way I am,” “The Real Slim Shady” and “Stan.” Perhaps the upcoming album will hold songs we’ll still be listening to in 13 years, like the original “LP” album. There is a lot of speculation, however on what kind of songs will be in the new album due to Eminem’s major life changes since the original “LP” album. The first “LP” album was produced with Dr. Dre and was known for its use of excessive lyrics about drugs and violence. Now, that Eminem is off drugs (release of the “Recovery” album). Some older Slim Shady (Eminem’s alter-ego) fans believe his new softer and more open style of lyricism is holding him back.

But regardless of wither Eminem’s style is going to be more open or go back to his generic aggressive rap. Eminem is making a comeback in the rap industry with a new album and a soundtrack to a major game for us to enjoy.
