Disney remakes are happy-ever-after

We all have become accustomed to seeing the blue cartoon screen with the famous Disney castle, and the sound that signifies the beginning of the most classic animated Disney movies ever made. Now that technology has progressed, so have our renowned, animated Disney movies.

Instead of the colorful animation movies being on the big screen, we have been becoming more a custom to seeing our beloved Disney tales being displayed by actors on film.

Though the younger generation has been falling in love with the new versions of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, etc.; various people still consider then original animation films as the classics. Their movement and songs played a major role in our childhoods.

“I prefer the classic animation movies over the new acted movies because of their lively music and dancing; the new films don’t have that same feel to it when compared to the classic animated movies,” said junior Emily Hadfield.

We danced and sang along as we enjoyed these classic tales, but now the new acting performances are taking the role of these classic animated films, and have been altered in countless ways. Several of the new versions do not have music or dancing, instead the story line is more focused on the individual depth of each individual character which has then resulted in spin off movies based on the original characters, such as the upcoming movie Maleficent which was based on the famous movie Sleeping Beauty. Though these newer versions are quite different from the original ones, audiences everywhere can’t help but to be excited to see how Disney has modified the older films.

The audiences’ curiosity, and their apprehension towards these new versions and spin off movies, has truly been remarkable. There are countless people who have expressed their enjoyment of both the classics, remakes, and spin off movies.

“I have really enjoyed the classics, but I also get excited to see the new generation of Disney,” said freshman Gemma Chadbourne.

Though Disney has been altering their older animated films into live action movies, it has not stopped Disney from continuing their singing and dancing animated films.

Undoubtedly Disney has not missed a step in their animated films department because their newest movie Frozen won an Oscar and was a major hit with all ages, everywhere. Disney has still managed to encompass the remarkable singing and dancing that pulls on the audiences’ heart strings.

No matter what changes are being made to the Disney classics on the big screen, audiences everywhere will continue to enjoy the past animated films, as well as both the new acted remakes and the new animated movies.

“The Disney movies make you feel happy, like you are in a magical world, as if you are with the characters in the movie,” said Samuels.
