How did you come to coach the team after Coach Marshall?
I have been at Edison High School since 2010, so quite a while. When Coach Marshall left, you know, somebody called and said that the job was open. I still have the passion to coach. It was just an uphill walk from there.
How are things going after the record last year for the boys’ team?
Some of our skill position guys played freshmen last year and someone played JV. We are trying to get them to the varsity level. However, we’re getting better every single day. It’s going to be promising.
How’s our overall spirit of the team?
Everybody works hard. Just trying to get them to change their mindset and motivation and perform fairly well.
Are there any sort of specific things you do to keep them motivated?
You have got to be honest, we sit and we watch film, and we talked about we’re probably one of the least experienced teams in the very tough conference, definitely gonna be battle tested.
Are you happy with the decision to come to WS?
I love my decision to come to WS. The academic support from students, the support from the administration. My Director of Student Athletics (DSA) has been wonderful.
