The parking spots closet to the school are used by the administrators. Senior parking has been lost because of construction.

Senior parking lot? More like Center Road! With renovations occurring at WS, parking for students has once again become an issue.
At the end of last school year and the beginning of this school year, seniors were given the opportunity to fill out applications for parking spots. Applications asked what extracurricular activities seniors were involved in, if they had jobs, or if they had academy classes or a free period. Answers were taken into consideration when students were being chosen for parking.
According to staff member Brad Adams, the administrators sat down with all the applications they received and assigned the parking spots to students who seemed to need them the most. Students who were more involved with after school activities were more likely to be given a parking spot. It was hard to narrow it down especially because they were only giving out 50 parking spots.
The lack of parking spots caused parents and students to complain. Academy parents seem to be the most upset because not all academy students were given spots. For example, senior Grace Branch takes Animal Science at Edison; her academy is on both days, and she didn’t get a parking spot.
Parents and students do have a right to be annoyed, especially if they’re students who didn’t get spots and are involved in sports or clubs and have after-school jobs. However, it should be recognized that there isn’t a lot that administrators can do.
Yes, there are empty parking spaces in the parking lot. However this was planned intentionally to accommodate construction
When the new wing is done, renovations will start at the front of the school, where the faculty parking is, meaning all of the parking at the very front of the school will be gone in January or February. Administrators need parking, so they intentionally left empty spaces in the student lot for when their spots are taken. After administrators get their new parking, leftover spots (if there are any) may be assigned to more students.
Now, in order to get an off-campus spot close to the school, students have to wake up earlier. Walking to class may not be bad now, but when it gets below freezing it’s going to be miserable, but administrators really can’t do anything else to help solve the parking issue. Let’s not focus on the negatives, instead let’s make the best of our last year here and not spend it complaining about what we can’t fix.
