This year has surely seen its ups and downs, but nothing really compares to this new twist. Clowns have been reported to be seen just walking around in the creepiest way.
The first sighting was last month in North Carolina and has spread all over the country. The clowns been seen in the most isolated areas like a back country road and even in suburban neighborhoods.
The time of day doesn’t seem to not have mattered to these hooligans; they could show up in bright daylight or in the dark of the night.
A majority of these clowns have been reported to be seen carrying weapons, such as shovels and even knives.
And what happens when you get a possibly psychotic clown carrying around a weapon? The end result wouldn’t be very pretty at all.
There was even a teenager in Texas who was murdered by being stabbed by a clown. Don’t worry, though—at least that clown was caught and is facing consequences.
But there is an upside to all of this creepiness: Some of the clowns are harmless; they just walk around to spook people out of their minds.
The police in Utah have already warned the public to not shoot clowns on sight.
Professional clowns, however, have taken a stand in light of these recent events. They say that whoever is defaming their good name should stop. They even started a trend on Twitter, #ClownLivesMatter, to stop the profiling.
The Green Bay, Wis., Clown Association has so far as to “out” these creepy clowns. The association created a Facebook page so that residents will know the difference between professional clowns and the creepy variety that lurks in the woods and aims to alarm the public.
Creepy clown sightings have even been reported in this area. A local family said a clown of scary kind followed them around has they went from house-to-house in the Orange Hunt neighborhood on Halloween night.
Since Halloween is long gone, the clown sightings have been winding down. But try to be careful when walking alone at night in the woods or deserted back roads.
So, if you all do go out at night, watch out for someone who’s just not clowning around.
