In addition to studying abroad for Graduate School in Paris, Vanke is a self-described “Francophile,” a person passionate about France, having lived in France for a period of his life. He described how while climbing the Eiffel Tower while visiting Paris with his children, he witnessed the 2019 Notre Dame fires.
