Spartans are registering to vote using government class voter registration forms with presidential and Virginia Senate elections just on the horizon.
“I’ve always thought voting would be super exciting,” said senior Andy Ramzy, who registered earlier this month. “It’s just such an amazing concept that I can be part of something bigger, something that helps inspire change.”
Eligible students can register as long as they are 18 years old on or before the date of any general election. If not received in a government class, forms can be printed out from the Virginia Department of Elections website and are available at the local voter registration office in Fairfax.
“No one ever makes change on their own, which is sadly a concept that turns people off from important things like voting,” said Ramzy. “But if [everyone] went to vote, it’d make a huge difference.”
