In a victory of 41-19, the Spartans won their first play-off football game against Hayfield after a delay past halftime, which occurred as a result of a power outage.
“Overall, we were pretty comfortable all game, and it’s great to see that we were productive on both sides of the ball,” said junior and recently named Patriot District Offensive Player of the Year, Mark-Anthony Whyte.
The next round of play-offs is against Lake Braddock on Friday, who defeated the football team 41-37 in October.
“I’m excited to go head to head with a team we came so close to beating in the regular season,” finished Whyte.
