Unique sports take to the air

Imagine having to explain to one of your friends that you’re not able to go to a party because you have Aeroball training to do.

Strange sports have been slowly stepping out of obscurity into the world’s view. Aeroball is one, for example. Aeroball originated as Gordon’s Hi-Ball in the 1970’s. It is a form of basketball where two or four players are put into a divided eight by fifteen metal framed box thirteen feet high with five by five foot trampolines acting as the floor for these boxes. The goal of this game it to score as many points as you can in either of your opponents two basket holes. One is up high behind your opponent, and another is down lower behind them. For each basket you make, you earn two points. The much larger four player Aeroball set isn’t small enough to fit in someone’s house, like the two player one, but they are big enough to fit in a flat backyard or blacktop. In the four player box, people could team up in twos or battle it out against one another. All Aeroball boxes come in two sizes known as Junior and Senior, providing children with the ability to play the game as well. The newest addition to the Aeroball box selection is inflatable instead of metal bars and mesh. It is being advertised mostly for children’s use, since they’re less likely to get hurt in the soft rubber insides rather than inside the regular mesh boxes; but can be used by anyone of any age or size. Aeroball can be quite convenient, as many people are able to keep a small two player box inside their homes for whenever they want a good workout. It’s an easy sport to get into, and once you master it, you’ll be flying high.
