A new sport that is sending a shockwave to WS students is Ultimate Taser Ball (UTB). A fun filled family friendly sport that is great for all ages. All you need is a ball, a place to play, some friends, and a few low powered stun guns.

The rules are simple there are two teams with four players each who compete to get the  ball into your opponents goal . For defense, players are given a stun gun with a 8 UTB shock apparatus that while painful does no serious harm to the shocked person. UTB is a great sport that incorporates new technology with the fun of competition.

“It sounds cool cause instead of hitting or tackling people you get to taze them,” said junior John Hoang.

  UTB can offer so many things to the WS community it can teach sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork while in a somewhat safe environment.  Also this sport is perfect for everyone big or small, fast or sow, smart or dumb; because anyone can be dangerous with a tazer.

“I think taser ball could help out the community, we could have a student verse staff tazer ball game,” said junior Tom Werneki.

This sport would help our community the student vs staff basketball game is great and all but it’s time to shake things up. UTB is a new sport that everyone will love, also now the basketball players won’t be the only ones to get a chance to play with UTB everyone will have a shot. The ticket sales will skyrocket for this new event.

Some people are shocked when they hear about UTB because they think it’s dangerous or stupid but this is common for new sports. People thought Football was violent when it started and people said the same of hockey lacrosse and gladiator games but does that mean they’re violent? People will adjust to UTB just like all these somewhat violent sports.

“I think it’s cool cause you don’t have to be big you can just taze” said sophomore Brock Vaughn.

UTB is truly the sport of the future nothing sums up American society like a bunch of people doing a violent for unknown reasons. It could be our next past time, instead of going to a baseball game in the summer you could go to a UTB game, Instead of fathers teaching their sons to throw and catch they can teach them to taze and get tazed. This could be a reality.
