Glenn Youngkin (R) upsets Terry McAuliffe (D) to win Virginia’s Gubernatorial race.

November 2nd, 2021 was election day for many states across the country, including Virginia. Virginia had many important races and ballot measures on the ticket on Tuesday. The following is the results from every major statewide and Fairfax County race from Tuesday night.

VA Governor Race

Glenn Youngkin (R) – 50.6% (Projected Winner)

Terry McAuliffe (D) – 48.7%

Princess Blanding (I) – 0.7%

VA Lt. Governor Race

Winsome Sears (R) – 50.8% (Projected Winner)

Hala Ayala (D) – 49.2%

VA Attorney General Race

Jason Miyares (R) – 50.4% (Projected Winner)

Mark Herring (D)* – 49.6%

VA House of Delegates Races

Republicans – 51 Seats

Democrats – 48 Seats

Undecided – 1 Seat

VA District 42 House Of Delegates Race

Kathy Tran (D)* – 60% (Projected Winner)

Ed McGovern (R) – 40%

Fairfax County School Bond Referendum

Includes renovation plans for Falls Church and Centerville High Schools as well as 12 elementary schools and a site acquisition for a new high school.
