French teacher Maria Papathansiou’s inspiration for starting the Greek Club was born out of her desire for Greek dance to be a part of WS’s International Night celebration.
“Since I’m Greek and I like to share my culture,” said Greek Club sponsor and French teacher Maria Papathansiou, “I thought it would be fun to have a place where we can talk about Greece and learn about the food and the music. [The club provides a place] for people who have visited Greece and they’d like to talk about it.”
While some participants are Grecian in lineage, being so is not a requirement to join. All are welcome to join the club, which will participate in International Night in 2024.
